AfroCROWD is beaming to Connecticut for the first time, joining up with Americorps VISTA PAVE New Haven for our next Wikipedia editor training session or "edit-a-thon" June 17th, 10am-2pm, at the Happiness Lab at the Grove, 756 Chapel St. in New Haven, CT.
We will be celebrating Juneteenth, Emancipation Day, by adding and editing Wikipedia articles on important figures and events in Afro-Descendant history the popular information source and world's 7th most visited website. Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is a holiday that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery.
All levels of Wikipedia editing knowledge are welcome, as well as all languages. Articles can be on any significant event in Afro-Descendant history and struggle for emancipation worldwide. Bring a laptop, bring a friend, we will also provide help for participants who are new to editing....
